HALL Road Rangers caretaker-boss Bill Gill believes he feels it is only a matter of time before things click into gear for Rangers ahead of their midweek trip to Bottesford Town.
Gill saw the NCEL Premier Division new-boys slip to a stoppage time defeat at Maltby Main on Saturday despite yet another performance which warranted at least a point at the league high-fliers.
Gill said: “We have been playing a different gear this season with little return for our efforts, so sooner or later our fortunes will take a turn, hopefully starting at Bottesford.
This week has been relaxed with players coming back, and new signings, including players dropping into our reserve team for more game time & consistency.”
Hall Road’s re-capture of talismanic play-maker Joe Cooper last week was welcome news and Cooper could make his debut tomorrow night.
Rangers will also welcome back striker Danny Chambers for the trip, but with Josh Batty and Chris Spinks performing well at the weekend, and with Gareth Owen and Josh Tennant pushing for starts from the bench Gill is not short of attacking options and has a pleasant selection headache.
Gill will definitely be without Matty Crane however as he is sidelined long-term with an ankle injury.
The Hall Road caretaker boss was full of respect for his opposite number John Corbett and the job he has undertaken at Bottesford, which saw them promoted through the play-off system over a year ago.
“Tomorrow’s game will be a stiff test, that will be the case for any team travelling to Bottesford this season.
John is highly respected at this level and he organises his team well and gets the boys working hard and hitting good areas.” Gill commented
Hall Road sit two places above tomorrow night’s hosts, a point to the good, having also played one game less as both teams look to build some momentum ahead of their respective FA Vase matches at the weekend.
