Hall Road Rangers welcome Hessle Rangers to Haworth Park on Saturday.

Winless in their last two league games, Hall Road find themselves sitting outside of the top five. A victory this weekend could potentially lift them all the way up to second place in the Humber Premier League Premier Division table.

Hessle have lost six of their seven league games so far this season and sit at the foot of the league table. They come into this game on the back of four straight league defeats and have the league’s leakiest defence having conceded 26 goals.

However, Hessle will definitely provide a tricky test as they possess dangerous threats in their squad. Aidan Welham has five goals to his name thus far whilst Ben Silburn has a tally of three goals. Elsewhere, Tom Attwood has got himself on the scoresheet once for Hessle.

Rangers joint boss Leon Sewell has fond memories of starting his footballing career at Hessle:

“I’m looking forward to welcoming Hessle Rangers as they’re a club that did an awful lot for me in the very early days of my footballing career. None more so than the club president Mr Pete Bilsdon.

I also had three fantastic managers in John Walker, Ian Parkin and Dave Shanks. Unfortunately, the three gents are no longer with us but they knew how to get the best out of their teams and knew what it took to win games and trophies.

We’ll need to be at our best on Saturday as Hessle won’t want to be on the back foot for another week. Having played LIV Supplies at Haworth Park last week, they’ll already have an incline on how the pitch plays and may adapt going into our game.”
