Hall Road Rangers resume their Humber Premier League Premier Division campaign on Saturday when they lock horns with Cherry Burton FC at Cherry Burton Sports Field.

Rangers played their last league game in late February which was against Cherry Burton at Haworth Park. Rangers ran out 4-0 winners that day thanks to goals from Joel Shepard, Rob Hall and a Tom Iversen brace.

Cherry Burton have played two league games since that encounter. In which, they secured a 3-0 home win over Hornsea Town before suffering a 1-0 loss at St Mary’s AFC.

So far this season, Cherry Burton have had nine home games which’ve produced three wins, two draws and four defeats. Meanwhile, Rangers have won six, drawn one and lost four of their 11 away games.

Giving his pre-match thoughts, Rangers boss Chris Burke said:

“After not playing for five weeks, we hopefully return to league action this coming weekend away against Cherry Burton FC. Our last competitive game, back in February, saw us come out on top at home against Cherry Burton and we’ll be looking to replicate the result and do the double over them.

The lads, like myself, have been really frustrated with the lack of games. They’ll hopefully use that frustration wisely to put in a solid and commanding performance.

We’re under no illusions that, regardless of the previous result, it won’t be an easy game by any stretch and especially with us not playing for so long. However, we’ve been nicely ticking over with the regular weekly training sessions.

Come two o’clock on Saturday, we’ll be ready to go and hopefully get another three points on the board.”
