Hall Road Rangers end 2021 with a local derby as they make the short trip to the Dransfield Stadium on Tuesday to take on North Ferriby FC.
Ferriby are the NCEL Division One league leaders and have collected 53 points from their first 22 games. In which, the Villagers have won 16, drawn five and lost just once. This loss occurred in Ferriby’s last league game which was a 1-0 loss at Brigg Town.
Conversely, Hall Road still occupy 12th position in the league table. Despite the 11 place gap between the sides, Rangers can have plenty of confidence that they can pick up a positive result. This is because they’ve been victorious in their last four away games at Retford FC, Swallownest FC, Rainworth Miners Welfare and Worsbrough Bridge Athletic respectively.
Rangers and Ferriby played out a 1-1 draw at Haworth Park in the reverse fixture that took place in August. Sam Robinson gave Hall Road the lead on the day before a Jamie Forrester strike meant that both sides shared the spoils.
Danny East and Tom Corner are the two main goal threats within the Ferriby squad. East has 11 goals in all competitions whilst Corner has a tally of ten goals to his name.
Meanwhile, Ferriby possess the best defence in the league having only conceded 13 goals. The Villagers have also kept 11 clean sheets.
Rangers joint manager Leon Sewell feels that his side can continue moving up the league table and achieve their ultimate goals come the end of the season.
“It’s still a realistic target to get in that top ten and push on for the top six. It’ll take an awful lot, but we’re not a million miles off.
We head down the road to North Ferriby which’ll be another tough test for us. It’ll be a good local derby if anything’s to go by our performances that’s for certain.
It’d be nice to see a good entourage of Hall Road supporters” Sewell said.
