Hall Road Rangers will play at Haworth Park for the first time this season when they entertain Hull United on Saturday.
With both sides based in Hull, local bragging rights are on offer. This is the first time they’ve faced each other since 2015 when Rangers earned a 2-1 Boxing Day victory in a fiery NCEL Division One encounter.
Rangers are looking to pick up a second league win on the bounce after their victory at Hessle Sporting Club last Saturday. Another three points this weekend would move Rangers into the top five.
Elsewhere, Hull United will aim to bounce back from their 3-1 defeat at Hedon Rangers. So far this season, the Citizens have picked up five points from five league games and sit in 11th place in the league table.
A win for the Citizens could move them all the way up to seventh place and leave them one point adrift of Rangers. The main goal contributors in Hull United’s squad are Lewis Poucher, Dylan Revell and Callum Staves. All three have two goals to their names thus far.
Rangers boss Leon Sewell says that his side will need to be at their best:
“We’ve got Hull United at home this weekend. That’ll be another tough test for us.
Everyone’s competing really, really well this year. Nobody’s running away with it. We’ve got to be at it no matter what week in, week out and training session after training session.”
