Hall Road Rangers face in form Ollerton Town on Wednesday night as they travel to the county of Nottinghamshire.

It’s set to be a very difficult test for Hall Road. This is because Ollerton have won their last three league games against Armthorpe Welfare, Retford FC and Clipstone FC respectively. In this run, Town have scored 16 goals and only conceded three goals.

There are just two places separating the sides in the league table and a win for Rangers would put them level on points with their opponents. If all three points are secured, Rangers would do the double over Ollerton having won the reverse fixture 3-1 at Haworth Park last August.

However, Ollerton have a very good home record. They’ve won eight, drawn six and lost four out of 18 games played on their own patch.

There are a number of attacking outlets at Ollerton’s disposal including top scorer Gav King who’s got 20 goals in all competitions. Meanwhile, George Slack has eight league goals, Jacques Etia and Ollie Grady both have eight goals in all competitions and Ben Partridge has a total of seven league goals so far this season.

Hall Road joint boss Leon Sewell wants to see a reaction from his side after the defeat against Retford FC on Saturday.

“We addressed the players at the end of the Retford game and put a couple of stakes in the ground for the next seven games to make sure that the season doesn’t just fizzle out.

That’s something Dave, myself, Burkey and Matt are all making sure that it doesn’t because we’ve come a long way and we’ve got to keep going.

We’ve got to learn on the job and it’s as simple as that. What better way to do so than travel away to Ollerton on Wednesday night which’ll be another test for us.

We’ll go fully loaded. We’ve got a few boys back which is good to see.

We need to get a bit of wind in our sails and make sure we arrive at Ollerton in good form, but good spirits first and foremost.

We’ll be questioning the players and making sure that they want to get the three points and bring them back home” he said.
