Hall Road Rangers have a trip to in form Retford FC on Saturday afternoon.
Following last Saturday’s 5-1 home win against FC Humber United, Rangers’ll have plenty of confidence after they put in a dominant display.
This’ll be put to the test by a Retford FC side who are unbeaten in their last seven league games. Moreover, the Choughs have won eight of their 15 NCEL Division One games so far this season and sit in 8th place in the league table.
Chris Woodhead’s team have the joint 4th best home record in the league as they’ve won five of the eight games that have been played at The Rail Ground. These victories came against Worsbrough Bridge Athletic, Ollerton Town, Armthorpe Welfare, Teversal FC and Rossington Main.
The Choughs have scored 28 goals in their 15 league games. Defensively, Retford have fared quite well as they’ve got the 4th best defence in NCEL Division One having only conceded 20 goals. However, they’ve only picked up three clean sheets.
Meanwhile, Hall Road’s away record is something that needs to be improved on if they are to keep moving up the table. This is because they’ve lost six out of seven games on their travels.
Rangers joint manager Leon Sewell is aware that his side face a tough prospect in heading to Retford.
“We needed those three points against FC Humber last week especially going into this game.
We know Retford is a tough place to go and they’ve recently found a bit of form.
We were back in training on Wednesday night and we’ll be ready to go on Saturday ” he said.
