For the third time this season, Hall Road Rangers lock horns with LIV Supplies on Saturday at Haworth Park.

Rangers took all three points in the previous league meeting between the sides which took place in August with a 1-0 victory. In February, LIV triumphed 3-4 in a penalty shootout in the Whiteheads Fish & Chips Cup that dumped Rangers out of the competition after the sides played out a 1-1 draw.

With four league games left for Rangers, they’ll be looking to keep up the pace with the sides above them and stretch their unbeaten run to 10 league games. A win could potentially leave them one point adrift of third placed Sculcoates Amateurs.

Conversely, LIV are ninth in the Humber Premier League Premier Division table. LIV have had eight home games so far this season and their record consists of two wins, two draws and four defeats. In their most recent home game on Wednesday night, they lost 2-3 against Hessle Sporting Club.

Giving his pre-match thoughts, Rangers boss Chris Burke said:

“We know we’ll be in for another very tough game against LIV after what we encountered in the cup game a few weeks ago where we unfortunately lost out on penalties. We’ll go into the game with the right attitude and mindset of what’ll be required to get the three points and also know that LIV will put up a strong and combative performance to do what they need to get a result also.

I want us to carry on our good form and banish the East Riding result. I feel we should’ve taken the three points, but mistakes happen in games and that unfortunately cost us against them.

Hopefully, the weather is kind and we can get the game on and move another step closer to finishing the season on a positive note and with as many points as possible. I look forward to seeing a few spectators down at Haworth for what should be a good game of local football.”
