Hall Road Rangers will aim to halt their slide down the Humber Premier League Premier Division table when they welcome Hessle Sporting Club to Haworth Park on Saturday.
Rangers are in eighth place after three league defeats on the bounce against East Riding Rangers, South Cave United and Sculcoates Amateurs respectively. If they pick up all three points this weekend, Rangers could move up to sixth place.
Sitting two places below Rangers in the league table, Hessle Sporting have a total of 13 points from 10 games played. This consists of three wins, four draws and three defeats. Hessle Sporting also have three games in hand on Rangers.
The sides contested their previous league meeting in September which resulted in a 2-3 victory for Rangers. This was secured thanks to a Chris Spinks brace and a Sam Loughton strike. Sam Leach and Jez Hartley got on the scoresheet for Hessle Sporting.
Rangers boss Chris Burke wants to see a much improved performance from his side:
“After two disappointing results following the wonderful display against North Ferriby, we’ll be looking to get back to winning ways and produce a similar performance to that Ferriby game.
If the return fixture earlier in the season was anything to go by, we know it’ll be a tough game. We’ll need to be at our best all over the pitch.
With some injuries and illnesses in the squad, a few changes will be needed. However, the lads will be ready and know what’s required come 2pm on Saturday.”
