Athersley Recreation vs Hall Road Rangers

Sheerien Park

Toolstation NCEL Premier Division

Saturday April 21

Hall Road Rangers will be making the second of three successive away trips on Saturday when they visit Athersley Recreation in the NCEL Premier Division.

Rangers have a couple of games in hand on their opposition and a win in this game would drag Athersley ever so closer to being in trouble down at the bottom of the table.

Athersley’s home form so far this season hasn’t been the best as they have lost just about half of the games they have played on their patch. This will give further encouragement to Rangers that they can pick up a positive result and they will already feel confident as they have secured some very important victories in their last couple of away games.

The reverse fixture between these sides ended in a 5-1 win for Athersley Recreation at Haworth Park back in November. Rangers weren’t at their best on that day as a Lee Garside brace and goals from Aidan Salmons, Dominic Riordan and Jack Briscoe completed what was a real rout. Chris Spinks did grab a consolatory goal for Hall Road and they will want to rectify that result when they face Athersley again on Saturday.

After this game, Hall Road will have another away trip on Monday night when they visit Liversedge and then on the following Tuesday night they welcome Parkgate to Haworth Park in what will be a crunch match. Rotation will play a key part due to the vast number of games that Rangers will have to play so changes will be expected from each game to the next but everyone that plays in these games are more than capable of producing the results Hall Road need.
