HALL Road Rangers boss Bill Gill has continued the shaping of a new era at Haworth Park by welcoming Rhys Vazquez to the Rangers revolution.

Following discussions last night, Vazquez who has previously represented Winterton Rangers and Bridlington Town has verbally agreed to join the club officially when the NCEL registration window opens on July 1.

Vazquez first appeared in senior football for Hull United in their NCEL campaign three years ago after progressing through local football and their reserve set up.

He was handed his debut in 2015 by Curtis Woodhouse at Hull United, before switching to Winterton Rangers and Barton Town.

Vazquez started predominantly as a free-scoring wide-man, however he has figured more recently in the centre of midfield, and boss Bill Gill admits he is the box-to-box midfielder that completes the missing piece in the centre of the pitch.

Gill also admitted that Vazquez is a player he has admired for some time, when he told the following to hallroadrangers.co.uk.

“We have finally secured the physical central midfield player who can play many roles, whether that be a box to box midfielder, in the hole, or even the holding central role that we have been lacking.

Rhys provides a physical presence, with leadership qualities, and that bit of quality we are looking for once again.” the Rangers boss also added

With a number of experienced players moving on, Gill has moved quickly, and has also revealed that Vazquez will be the club’s vice-captain in the coming season.

With the club now keen to bring on the next generation Vazquez is expected to help the younger players at the club and this is another asset which Gill highlighted.

“His (Vazquez) role is key to our development over the next two seasons, and I have no doubt that the younger players at the club will learn a lot from someone like Rhys.”

Hall Road report for pre-season training in just seventeen days on June 23, before their first friendly sees them take on one of Vazquez’s former club’s Bridlington Town on July 4 at Haworth Park.
