James McGarry is the latest addition to Hall Road’s squad as he returns to the club.
He played for Rangers many years ago where one of his teammates was Dave Ricardo. James is 6th in the list of top scorers for Hall Road in league and cup games from 2005 onwards as he has 32 goals. He has five more than Josh Batty and is 13 goals behind Adam Walker in 5th place.
James was a YTS at Hull City and was also previously at clubs such as Harrogate Town, North Ferriby United and Bridlington Town. He was most recently playing in Australia for Melbourne Knights.
He’ll be with us for the next three months before he goes back to Australia.
Rangers joint manager Dave Ricardo added the following about James:
“We’re lucky to have James on board as anyone locally that’s followed the game over the last 10-12 years will know what a talent he is. He’s been playing over in Australia where he started out as the striker everyone knew him as back home. However, he’s now developed into a quality central midfielder.
The lad’s got great technical ability and will add to the style of play we’re starting to develop. He’ll be a joy to watch over the coming months” he said.
