ANOTHER northerly trip beckons for Hall Road Rangers next weekend as they head to face one of the early season favourites to clinch the NCEL Premier Division title.

Whilst ‘The Pikes’ currently sit second on goal difference to the free scoring Pontefract Collieries, Rangers will be looking to extend their current four game unbeaten run.

Bill Gill and Andrew Watts will be looking for the players to replicate the stunning away performance which saw them win at Handsworth Parramore last month and the win at Barton, as well as a creditable away draw at Garforth Town.

Rangers also won their last away game in the FA Vase this previous weekend, at Ashington.

They will likely come up against Pickering strike duo Ryan Blott, and reported one time target Ged Dalton who both featured against Rangers at Haworth Park in a League Cup tie last season, however Rangers midfielder Fraser Hansen also had a spell at Pickering in pre-season and will be looking to build on his bright start in a Rangers shirt.

There was little to seperate the two sides last season in that League Cup fixture, which Pickering won 2-0.

After Ash Dexter had to go to hospital early into that game to receive stitches to an eye wound, Rangers only fell behind 14 minutes from time, and whilst pushing to try and force an equaliser, they were hit with a sucker punch in added time by Dalton.
