Buildbase FA Vase Second Qualifying Round, Saturday September 23, Haworth Park, 3pm

By Neil Winsor

THE NCEL First Division champions meet the Lincolnshire League champions in the final qualifying round of this season’s Buildbase FA Vase competition at Haworth Park on Saturday.

Skegness Town are a side that compete in the eleventh tier of English football but Hall Road manager Bill Gill will be keen to avoid any complacency amongst his players as they themselves bid for a place in the First Round proper of the Vase for the second year running.

They themselves clinched the Lincolnshire league title and have won each of their opening four games in this campaign, as well as a seemingly convincing 3-0 win against Sleaford Town, two divisions their senior in the previous round.

Rangers will be keen to use this fixture as a potential springboard to convert some of these draws in the league into maximum point hauls and a run in the Vase would be welcome with another pay-day for the club should they be victorious here.

Danny Chambers and Joe Cooper will be hoping to push their way into the team from the bench as will James Whittingham despite the latter facing stiff competition from the in-form Jack Binns

If the scores are level after 90 minutes, extra time will be played, and if no winner can still be found a replay will take place in midweek, meaning Rangers NCEL Premier Division game at Handsworth Parramore will be postponed.
